Performance Biography
Reecy Pontiff has lived in seven timezones on three continents, though her southern-fried vaudeville sound was birthed while performing smutty songs in New Orleans burlesque shows during the Great Recession. Now this professional vagabond spends her life on the road as live performer, writer and tour guide.
Reecy’s original songs are clever and candid. With lyrics mined from her unusual wayfaring existence, they bounce between oddball, toe-tapping tunes and gritty, heart-wrenching ballads. In her live shows she plays bluegrass Brittany Spears covers; sweet, folksy Sex Pistols songs; and traditionals like “The Cat Came Back.”
Reecy has played five tours with her southern-fried vaudeville, and is on the road yearly with her Bettina Bawdeville act at Renaissance festivals around the US. She’s performed in over 50 burlesque shows in the US and Europe, including Slow Burn Burlesque and Bella Blue’s Dirty Dime Peep Show in New Orleans, Red Hots Burlesque in San Francisco, Burlesque in Times Square in New York City and the Glasgow Burlesque Festival in Scotland.
Reecy’s music has been played on the likes of New Orleans’ WWOZ, San Francisco’s Radio Valencia, Colorado’s KCMJ and Burning Man’s BMIR radio. She has four albums: “No Extra Charge” (Bettina Bawdeville, 2021), “Mississippi Mountain Mud” (2017), the “Rocky Mountain Flirt” EP (2015), “The Fabulous Sideshow Apocalypse” (2009).
